How It Works

Every act of kindness begins with one nomination. Through Fueling Kindness, local families in crisis receive emergency heating oil quickly, compassionately, and without delay.

NOMINATE A Neighbor In Need

Anyone can nominate: neighbors, friends, schools, caseworkers, or local organizations.

Eligibility:

Lives on Long Island
Uses oil heat for their home
Facing financial or personal hardship
Ineligible for programs like HEAP
At least one member of the household must be a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen

Action: Submit a nomination online

REVIEW Applications

Every week, the Fueling Kindness executive committee reviews nomination applications and notifies qualified recipients. We focus on urgency, hardship, and health or safety concerns.

Goal: Ensure help reaches families who need it most.

DELIVER Warmth And Hope

Approved households receive up to 150 gallons of emergency heating oil delivered directly to their homes.

Goal: Bring warmth, comfort, and stability when it is needed most.

Every delivery is powered by generosity.

Goal: Your donation provides real relief to local families and keeps this mission growing.

We provide a one-time gift of up to 150 gallons of emergency heating oil to Long Island households in crisis, specifically those who don’t qualify for assistance programs but are still in urgent need. We respond swiftly, without the delays of traditional aid programs, delivering comfort when it’s needed most.
